Champs League QF and VAR!

Recommended Posts

Well, that was an exciting quarter final, some unexpected results in dramatic fashion!

Ajax riding high after seeing off two giants of the game. Set to face Spurs who, some might say, were fortunate in their victory.

Messi Barcelona seeing off Manchester United comprehensively, but not looking at their best, ready to welcome Liverpool to the Camp Nou for the first leg of the Semi-finals after another comprehensive but arguably expected victory.

VAR playing a crucial role in the games involving English clubs. With Liverpool and Tottenham benefiting massively. And a decision the reserve a penalty call against Man Utd. although by the final result the impact of the call wasn't so big.

Porto where looking strong with a number of decent opportunities before Mane connected with Salah's pass to knock it home, where in a post match interview Mane even said himself, he thought he was offside. But VAR overturned the original decision to give the goal which essentially ended the tie, leaving Porto needing 4 goals to qualify.

Between Spurs and Man City there appears to be split opinions over the "handball" goal scored by Llorente which all but secured a win for them, with a little extra help from VAR.

For those who see VAR week in week out in their national league... Is it always as exciting as this?
